# saveAlert()

Creates the SaveAlert command. Dispatching this command will result in the saving alert on the backend.

**Signature:**

```typescript
export declare function saveAlert(alert: IAutomationMetadataObject, correlationId?: string): ISaveAlert;
```

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| alert | [IAutomationMetadataObject](https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/gooddata-ui/latest/api-reference/sdk-model/sdk-model.iautomationmetadataobject/index.md) | specify alert to save. |
| correlationId | string | _(Optional)_ specify correlation id to use for this command. this will be included in all events that will be emitted during the command processing |
