## Remarks

Use this type when working with layers that could be either pushpin or area type. Use the [isGeoLayerPushpin()](https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/gooddata-ui/latest/api-reference/sdk-ui-geo/sdk-ui-geo.isgeolayerpushpin/index.md) and [isGeoLayerArea()](https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/gooddata-ui/latest/api-reference/sdk-ui-geo/sdk-ui-geo.isgeolayerarea/index.md) type guards to narrow the type in conditional logic.
