Filters
Filter components and hooks for building interactive analytics UIs.
GoodData.UI lets users narrow down what a chart, pivot table, or dashboard shows. The SDK covers the four filter types the analytics engine understands: attribute filters (single- and multi-select element pickers), date filters (absolute ranges, relative ranges, and presets), measure value filters (numeric comparisons), and ranking filters (top and bottom N by a measure).
Each filter is available as a ready-to-use React component. Attribute filters also come as two headless hooks, useAttributeFilterController and useAttributeFilterHandler, so you can build your own UI while reusing the SDK’s loading, paging, and selection logic. The filters you create plug into a dashboard or into standalone visualizations through their filters prop.
Date filter presets
Change the granularities and presets that dashboard date filters offer by creating the dateFilterConfig organization or workspace setting.
Filter visualizations
Create attribute, date, measure-value, and ranking filters and apply them to charts, InsightView, or individual measures.
Attribute filter
Configure AttributeFilter with a filter definition or placeholder, handle selection changes, choose selection behavior, and replace its UI components.
Attribute filter button
Configure AttributeFilterButton with a filter definition or placeholder, handle selected values, choose single or multiple selection, and replace its UI components.
Date filter
Configure DateFilter with filter options, granularities, and a date format, and handle the applied selection.
Measure value filter
Let users edit and apply a measure value filter, configure input formatting and null handling, or render the dropdown with a custom toggle button.
Ranking filter
Let users edit and apply a ranking filter to a visualization, or render the filter dropdown with a custom toggle button.
Inspect filter objects
Split an IFilter array by kind, find the filter for a display form, read or replace the selected elements, and detect an empty selection without reading filter internals.
useAttributeFilterController
Build fully custom attribute filter UIs with SDK-managed state, elements loading, and apply callbacks.
useAttributeFilterHandler
Access the IMultiSelectAttributeFilterHandler Core API directly for low-level attribute filter control.
